Deputy Director of the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre Nguyen Duc Tan said that Quang Tri has 185 strategic projects covering many key sectors, ranging from energy, logistics and tourism to green agriculture. The province is opening its doors wider and creating an open and attractive investment environment to welcome both domestic and foreign investors.
Aiming to become the region's energy hub
The comprehensive restructuring of the new development space follows an integrated approach, with the goal of gradually turning Quang Tri into a multifunctional development centre of the North Central region. During the 2026–2030 period, the province identifies mobilising social resources, especially private investment and foreign direct investment (FDI), as the fundamental driving force.
The catalogue of 185 investment projects is not merely a collection of figures, but a synchronised and strategically oriented plan focusing on spearhead industries with high technological content, high added value and environmental sustainability.
The investment portfolio has been scientifically structured, including: logistics accounting for the largest share with 62 projects; energy with 36 projects; tourism with 22 projects; and green agriculture with 26 projects. The remaining 39 projects cover industry, industrial park infrastructure, urban development, healthcare and education.
This distribution demonstrates the strategic vision of the leadership of Quang Tri Province: using logistics and energy as the two wings to propel industrial breakthroughs, while making agriculture and tourism the sustainable foundation of a green economy.
With its geographical and climatic advantages, Quang Tri continues to pursue its objective of becoming a large-scale energy centre. Among the 36 energy projects open for investment, wind power and solar power occupy the leading positions.
In particular, the offshore wind power project along the coastal area of the Hon La Economic Zone and the South-East Quang Tri Economic Zone, with an estimated investment of several trillion VND, is expected to provide a major boost to coastal industry.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam analysed that Quang Tri holds a particularly important position compared with other provinces in the region. It is served by National Highways 1, 9, 15D and 12A, the North-South railway, the North–South expressway, and two airports-Dong Hoi and Quang Tri. It also has three international border gates-La Lay, Lao Bao and Cha Lo-and three seaports-Hon La, Cua Viet and My Thuy-connecting the three East-West Economic Corridors.
This multi-gateway structure enhances the province's connectivity, reduces logistics costs and increases its attractiveness to global supply chains. The simultaneous presence of seaports, international border gates, expressways and airports gives Quang Tri an infrastructure foundation rarely found in the North Central region.
On this basis, the province has identified logistics as a strategic economic sector, with 62 investment projects. Specifically, it is prioritising investment in large-scale transport infrastructure projects and distribution warehouse systems. A key infrastructure project is the My Thuy–Dien Sanh railway line (part of the My Thuy–Dong Ha–Lao Bao railway), which will be 14 kilometres long.
This will be followed by logistics centres in the South-East Economic Zone covering between 100 and 200 hectares, and a logistics service centre at La Lay International Border Gate covering between 10 and 50 hectares.
In addition, a logistics network extending across key economic areas, with integrated logistics centres within the Free Trade Zone at the My Thuy deep-water port area, Hon La Port, Quang Tri Airport and Dong Hoi Airport, will create enormous development opportunities for multinational transport corporations.
At the same time, the province is calling for investment in a series of large warehouses, bonded warehouses and cargo transshipment facilities at La Lay, Lao Bao and Cha Lo International Border Gates and along National Highways 1, 9 and 12A in order to complete a comprehensive logistics service supply chain.
Towards sustainable development
According to Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam, with the policy of pursuing economic development without sacrificing the environment, Quang Tri remains committed to green growth through eco-tourism projects and high-tech agriculture. The province is inviting investment in 22 flagship tourism projects, the largest of which is the Bau Sen Lake High-end Tourism and Resort Complex covering an area of 2,000 hectares. In green agriculture, the province is promoting high-tech applications linked to sustainable value chains.
Key projects include climate-resilient organic rice production, red-fleshed jackfruit cultivation and high-tech pineapple production. In addition, specialised cultivation areas for pepper and organic coffee aimed at export are planned in Khe Sanh, Huong Phung and Cam Lo. Investment is also being strongly encouraged in concentrated aquaculture infrastructure along the Nhat Le, Roon, Ly Hoa, Ben Hai and Gianh rivers, as well as in large-capacity seafood processing plants.
To create a synchronised living and working environment, Quang Tri is focusing on attracting investment into industrial infrastructure, urban areas and social welfare facilities. Major industrial infrastructure projects are expanding available cleared land, including Quang Trach Industrial Park, QTIP Industrial Park in Dien Sanh, Tay Bac Quan Hau Industrial Park, Bang Industrial Park, Bo Trach Industrial Park and logistics-oriented clean industrial clusters. At the same time, the province is prioritising investment in manufacturing and assembly plants for electronic components, automobiles, household electrical appliances and mechanical engineering and repair.
To realise these investment attraction efforts, the province is committed to providing comprehensive support to businesses. It is vigorously accelerating administrative reform, applying the highest investment incentives permitted under the legal framework, supporting rapid site clearance, and preparing a highly skilled workforce to meet production needs.
The openness, transparency and determination demonstrated by the provincial leadership and the entire political system send the strongest possible message: Quang Tri is not only a safe and sustainable investment destination capable of generating attractive returns, but also a reliable partner committed to working together with investors to create new prosperity for a region that still possesses enormous development potential.
