Tet gifts presented to underprivileged people in Central Vietnam

The Vietnam Journalists’ Association, along with sponsors and press agencies, organised a programme titled “Tet sum vay, chia se yeu thuong” (Tet reunion and sharing) to present Tet gifts to disadvantaged people in the provinces of Quang Binh and Quang Tri from January 15 to 17.

On January 15, the organisers presented 200 gift packages, each valued at 500,000 VND (including cash and a box of instant noodles), to policy beneficiaries, national contributors, local residents, students, and border guard families in difficult circumstances in Kim Thuy Commune, Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province.

The total value of the gifts distributed during this event was 100 million VND, sponsored by the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG), Him Lam Joint Stock Company, and Acecook Vietnam.

At the gift-giving ceremony, Nguyen Duc Loi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, shared: “This is a gesture of encouragement for local Party committees, authorities, and residents, reflecting the spirit of mutual support and the nation’s solidarity. It also demonstrates the care and responsibility for people in remote areas as Tet approaches.”

After distributing gifts in Le Thuy District, the organisers will continue to deliver an additional 1,070 Tet gift packages worth over 600 million VND in several areas in the districts of Trieu Phong, Hai Lang, Cam Lo, and Huong Hoa (Quang Tri Province).

Additionally, the programme will include the inauguration of a primary school valued at 500 million VND in Thuan Commune, Huong Hoa District, along with providing various equipment and scholarships worth a total of 200 million VND for underprivileged students.
