Three First Prizes honoured at 2024 National Circus Talent Competition

The 2024 National Circus Talent Competition officially closed at the Central Circus in Hanoi on the evening of August 13, with the presentation of three first prizes.

The competition was chaired by the Department of Performing Arts under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and the Vietnam Circus Federation.

After four days of exciting competition, from August 9 to 12, nearly 100 artists and actors from four units, including Phuong Nam Arts Theatre, Vietnam Intermediate School of Circus and Variety Arts, Hanoi Circus and Variety Theatre, and Vietnam Circus Federation, brought 20 unique and attractive circus performances to the audience.

In his closing speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong affirmed that the competition has shown the efforts of the young circus performers. Most of the performances were carefully and meticulously staged, with investment in art, technique, and performance skills alike, showing the circus performers’ passion for the profession.

The organising committee presented three first prizes to performances by the Vietnam Intermediate School of Circus and Variety Arts; Contemporary Circus Troupe - Vietnam Circus Federation; and Phuong Nam Arts Theatre. In addition, five second prizes were also awarded.

The organising committee also awarded one Outstanding Director Award to Meritorious Artist Ngo Le Thang (Vietnam Intermediate School of Circus and Variety Arts) and 1 Outstanding Coaching Award to artist Tran Duc Vinh (Contemporary Circus Troupe - Vietnam Circus Federation).
