The conference aimed to provide information for delegates and trainees on the picture of Vietnamese literature and arts over 40 years of renovation; enhancing awareness and professional skills for leaders and managers in the fields of culture, arts, journalism, publishing, as well as for those working in the field of theory and criticism of literature and arts at central and local levels.
This is an opportunity for delegates and trainees to exchange and share experiences, and to approach new theoretical and practical trends. Trainees will also be updated on the Party’s guidelines and viewpoints on culture and arts, the important contributions of literature and arts and of artists to the cause of national construction and protection, contributing to improving knowledge and practical ability in producing high-quality theoretical and critical works of literature as Viet Nam enters a new era of development.
The training conference covers six main topics: Vietnamese literature and arts after 40 years of renovation and the development orientation in the new era; innovation in leadership and management thinking on literature and arts in the era of integration and technology; innovation in the institutions of literature and arts, and the strategy for developing, training, and fostering theorists and critics of literature and arts in preparation for the new era; Vietnamese fine arts from the renovation period until now (1986–2025); the image of Ho Chi Minh in Vietnamese literature since 1975 – some initial reflections; and Vietnamese traditional theatre – opportunities and challenges.
The topics are presented by lecturers with extensive experience in leadership, management, and research in literature and arts, such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Ky, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Hoai Son, Standing member of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture and Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Diep, Chairman of the Council for Theory and Criticism of the Viet Nam Writers’ Association, former Head of the Institute of Literature; researcher Phan Cam Thuong, Chairman of the Council for Theory and Criticism of the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association and so on.
The training conference is taking place from September 19 to 22.
