On October 9, Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of the 2026 World University Rankings, featuring nearly 2,200 higher education institutions from 115 countries and territories.

Among the 11 Vietnamese universities included in the THE 2026 rankings, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City once again achieved the highest position, placed in the top 501–600 universities worldwide.

UEH’s continued presence in this tier represents a significant achievement, affirming its efforts to enhance the quality and global reputation of Vietnamese higher education.

The rankings are based on data collected by THE through independent surveys combined with information provided by participating institutions.

To qualify, universities must offer undergraduate programmes, conduct research across multiple disciplines, and have published at least 1,000 research papers between 2020 and 2024.

THE evaluates institutions according to 18 indicators grouped into five key areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry Engagement, and International Outlook.
