Vietnam Foodexpo opens in Ho Chi Minh City

The Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition (Vietnam Foodexpo) officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, in Ho Chi Minh City on November 16.

The expo featured more than 500 pavilions by nearly 400 enterprises, from 30 provinces and cities in Vietnam and nearly 20 countries and territories around the world, including Argentina, Russia, Canada, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Peru, Turkey, Finland, Poland, Spain, France, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

The expo is considered the most important and largest-scale international trade promotion event in the field of the food industry, agricultural products and seafood in Vietnam.

The event aims to honour the national brand value of Vietnamese food, featuring the participation of leading manufacturers and exporters.

On display are a wide range of products in different commodities, including agricultural products (vegetables, fruits, tea, coffee, pepper and cashew nuts), raw and processed aquatic products, foods and beverages, machinery, equipment and food processing technology, packaging technology, food safety and hygiene technology.

Many seminars and conferences will be held within the framework of the expo, aiming to promote trade connections for businesses.

In addition to domestic enterprises, economic organisations and guests, the expo attracted various international traders and buyers from key markets including Europe, the RoK, Japan, Germany, the US, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong (China).

The event will last until November 19.
