Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City urged to further improve quality of teaching and learning

The Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) held an opening ceremony for the 2020 academic year on October 3 in the presence of Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh emphasised that the VNU-HCM should seize opportunities and focus on human resources training in order to become a leading educational centre for not only the southern region but also the whole country.

The Deputy PM also encouraged the VNU-HCM to attract social resources for its development and further expand ties with foreign partners to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

The university should continue to create favourable conditions for lecturers, scientists and students to engage in scientific research, including the development and application of technology to production and the business activities of enterprises, as well as to share experience with renowned universities and colleges in the region and around the world, he noted.
