Running from June 27-28, the vibrant event featured documentary screenings on the ties between Viet Nam and Hungary, and an art and photo exhibition highlighting Viet Nam’s people, culture, and socio-economic achievements since the launching of the "Doi moi" (Renewal) process.
In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai emphasised that the event was not only a celebration of national cultural identity, but also a bridge fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the people of both nations. He expressed gratitude to local authorities and reaffirmed the Vietnamese community’s role as a key link in the bilateral relations.
Mayor of District 3 Kiss László praised the initiative to organise the event and pledged continued support for Vietnamese cultural exchange activities. He also proposed developing a sister-city partnership between District 3 and Son Tay town of Hanoi to promote community integration and cooperation.
A highlight of the event was an exhibition featuring images and videos of 75 years of diplomatic ties, high-level visits, and Viet Nam’s cultural heritage and development milestones, offering Hungarian visitors a deeper insight into a peaceful, dynamic, and globally engaged Viet Nam.
Visitors also enjoyed booths showcasing Vietnamese export products such as cashew nuts, coffee, tea, and spices, along with traditional cuisine and folk performances that created a lively cultural experience.
The event concluded in the spirit of friendship, underscoring the vital role of culture in strengthening the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and Hungary in the new era.
