Winners of Ho Xuan Huong Literature and Arts Awards honoured

A total of 74 prizes were presented to winners of the fifth Ho Xuan Huong Literature and Arts Awards at a ceremony held by the Nghe An provincial People’s Committee on August 19.

The winning entries stood out from 197 works submitted to the organising board by 120 entrants. The submissions varied in nine categories of literature, poetry, theatre, art critics, folklore, music, photography, fine arts, and dance.

At the award ceremony, seven A, 15 B, 23 C, and 29 consolation prizes were given to the most outstanding entries.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long congratulated the winners and called on artists and writers throughout the province, to continue to create more literary works truthfully reflecting the life, people, construction and defence of the country and Nghe An people in particular.

Named after celebrated female poet Ho Xuan Huong (1772 – 1822), the award is held every five years to honour literary and artistic works which contribute to the development of literature and art in Nghe An province and the whole country in general.
