Recently, at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, a delegation of Vietnamese enterprises attended the 10th anniversary of the Viet Nam–ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum 2026, organised by the Asia Business Centre in coordination with international organisations. As part of the programme, the delegation also visited and worked with the Viet Nam Trade Office in Singapore.
The Viet Nam–ASEAN Economic Cooperation Forum is an important annual event aimed at promoting economic, trade, and investment connectivity between Viet Nam and ASEAN countries. It is held on a rotating basis across ASEAN member states. First organised in 2017 in Singapore, subsequent editions have taken place in Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The year 2026 marks its 10th anniversary, with the event once again hosted in Singapore, aiming to strengthen economic cooperation, promote trade, and enhance the brand value of enterprises across the ASEAN region.
This year’s forum attracted the participation of leading enterprises, policymakers, and economic experts from across the region. The programme featured a wide range of activities, including economic forums and the announcement of more than 100 ASEAN strong brands honoured. It also included in-depth panel discussions, presentations by regional economic experts, product and service exhibitions, and media activities to promote brands in the market.
The forum is seen as an opportunity for Vietnamese and ASEAN enterprises to expand partnerships and explore cooperation and investment opportunities, particularly in the context of a rapidly evolving and volatile global economy.
Speaking at the forum, Cao Xuan Thang, Head of the Viet Nam Trade Office and Trade Counsellor in Singapore, highlighted the significant achievements between the two countries and the tangible outcomes since Viet Nam and Singapore elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025.
Within the framework of the forum, the Viet Nam Business Association in Singapore (VBAS) was officially launched, marking an important milestone in strengthening trade links and connections between Vietnamese and Singaporean enterprises. The event also witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between Vietnamese and ASEAN organisations.
