The programme will feature songs, dances and reportage screenings, praising the resolute fighting spirit and glorious feats of arms by Hanoi’s people and army to fight against the US attack by B-52 bombers, during 12 days and nights from December 18, 1972. There will be historical interviews with witnesses and war veterans who joined the fierce battle.
The event is hosted by the People’s Army Newspaper in co-ordination with the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Vietnam Television Corporation (VTC), in an effort to educate the younger generation about the heroism of their country’s people, inspire their patriotism and urge them to contribute to the on-going needs of national construction and defence.
* On the occasion, the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will host a wide range of arts programmes in public places across the capital city. The series aim to revive the spirit of the Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the Air victory, create an exciting atmosphere among capital residents, thus encouraging them to realise the city’s socio-economic tasks for the coming time.
