Exactly 80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. This was a great turning point in the nation’s history, ushering in a new era.

At the invitation of the Chinese government, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit as a guest of the host country and pay a working visit to China from August 31 to September 1.

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee To Lam and his spouse, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez and his spouse are paying a state visit to Viet Nam and attending celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam’s National Day from August 31 to September 2.

Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress (NPC), begins his official visit to Viet Nam on August 31 to attend the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam’s National Day, and co-chair the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the two countries’ parliaments.

At the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives (Parliament) Gerry Brownlee is paying an official visit to Viet Nam from August 27 to 31.

Today, the entire Party, people, and army solemnly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the August Revolution — a momentous historical event in the glorious struggle of our nation to build and defend the country.

At the invitation of President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his spouse, and President of the Republic of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse, President Luong Cuong and his spouse, accompanied by a high-level Vietnamese delegation, are paying State visits to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Angola from August 3 to 9, 2025.

At the invitation of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) President Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong, Morocco’s Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, and President of the Senegalese National Assembly El Malick Ndiaye, Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will attend the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament and conduct bilateral activities in Switzerland and pay official visits to Morocco and Senegal from July 22 to 30, 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC) of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Tianjin and conduct a working visit to China from June 24 to 27, 2025.

At the invitation of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and his spouse are paying an official visit to Viet Nam from June 11 to 12. This marks the first official visit to Viet Nam by a Lithuanian head of state since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1992.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is leading a Vietnamese high ranking-level delegation to attend the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) and bilateral activities in France; and to pay official visits to Estonia and Sweden from June 5-14.

At the invitation of the Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his spouse are paying an official visit to Viet Nam from May 27 to 29. 

President of France Emmanuel Macron and his spouse are paying a state visit to Viet Nam from May 25 to 27 at the invitation of Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong.

Former President Tran Duc Luong, an outstanding leader, has bid us farewell forever. This is an immense loss for the Party, the State and the Vietnamese people.

Today marks the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh — a genius leader, a great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, a national liberation hero, an exemplary international communist, and a close friend of peace-loving and progressive peoples around the world. He is the shining embodiment of the ethics, intellect, courage, and conscience of both the Vietnamese people and his era.

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s official visit to Viet Nam takes place at a time in which the enhanced strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Thailand continues to grow in a remarkable manner. 

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee To Lam and his spouse, accompanied by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, are paying state visits to the Republic of Kazakhstan; an official visit to the Russian Federation, where they will attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War; and a state visit to the Republic of Belarus from May 5 to 12.

Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his spouse are paying an official visit to Vietnam from April 27 to 29 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and his spouse arrived in Hanoi to begin an official visit to Vietnam and to attend 4th Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit) from April 14 to 17, at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse.

Burundi President Evariste Ndayishimiye and his spouse’s visit demonstrates the African country’s special regard for the friendly relations and good cooperation between the two countries, as well as Vietnam’s role and position in the region and the world.
