Reporting by Nhan Dan Newspaper correspondents in Tay Nha Trang ward shows that floodwaters have begun to flow into several locations in residential clusters Phu Binh and Vo Cang.
Luong Vi Phuong Trang, a resident of Phu Binh residential cluster, said the water began rising at 5 a.m. and by 7 a.m. had reached waist level. Trang and her husband, along with other households, had to urgently lift and rearrange their belongings to prevent damage in case the water continued to rise.
At the area where water was rising rapidly in Phu Binh residential cluster, To Quoc Huy, a member of the Tay Nha Trang ward self-defence militia, said that immediately after receiving orders from local leaders, the militia began visiting households to mobilise residents from 5 a.m.
“We instructed people to raise their belongings, prepare response measures, and clearly informed them that if an emergency evacuation order is issued, they must comply immediately to ensure their safety,” Huy said.
In Vo Cang residential cluster, security forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the deeply flooded area to ensure safety, while assigning team members to enter the area to support residents in moving their belongings and evacuating from danger.
Speaking at the scene, Nguyen Thiet Lam, Head of the Security and Order Team of Vo Cang residential cluster, said: “At around 7 a.m., when I saw the water rising quickly, I mobilised team members to erect barriers, set up checkpoints, and assist residents in flooded areas to move out safely.”
In the context of consecutive floods occurring within a short period, the proactive response of authorities and the cooperative spirit of local residents are crucial factors in reducing risks. Authorities advise residents not to be complacent, to closely monitor forecast information and to strictly follow local guidance to ensure the safety of both lives and property.
With the strong involvement of local forces and the community’s preparedness, flood prevention and response efforts in Tay Nha Trang ward are being carried out urgently, ready for any situation that may arise.
