GHG inventories allow enterprises to identify emission sources, develop effective reduction pathways, and meet international standards. According to experts, to carry out inventories that require high authenticity, transparency and accuracy, businesses need to invest in training personnel to understand current regulations. The GHG inventory process typically involves five steps: defining organisational boundaries and emission sources; collecting operational data; selecting emission coefficients and calculating emissions per source (fuel, electricity, procurement, etc.); reporting results; and identifying and setting emission reduction targets.
