The event marked a significant step in fostering investment cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and India, particularly in information technology.
In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan emphasised that the city regards information technology not only as a key economic sector but also as a foundation for improving residents' quality of life, enhancing administrative efficiency and promoting sustainable development.
Ho Chi Minh City prioritises investment in digital infrastructure and accelerating digital transformation across various sectors, including education, healthcare, transportation, and public services. The city aims to build an e-government, a digital economy, a digital society, and a smart city.
At the conference, delegates noted that the city achieved remarkable milestones in the digital economy in 2024. The percentage of digital technology enterprises reached 12.88%, equivalent to over 33,000 businesses, while digital platform enterprises accounted for 11.63%, or more than 30,000 businesses.

Amid the fourth industrial revolution, Ho Chi Minh City is committed to further investing in IT infrastructure, fostering an intelligent and innovative environment, and attracting technology enterprises domestically and internationally—particularly from countries with advanced technology, such as India.
India is a global powerhouse in information technology, boasting extensive experience and abundant resources. The country’s IT industry is experiencing rapid growth and is projected to reach a revenue of 350 billion USD by 2025.
Ho Chi Minh City aims to establish comprehensive cooperation with Indian businesses, from leading technology corporations to promising startups in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud computing.
Through the conference, the city hopes to create new opportunities for business collaboration, fostering exchanges and connections between Vietnamese and Indian enterprises. Additionally, it seeks to turn innovative ideas into reality, helping businesses build a strong technology ecosystem and move toward a prosperous digital era.
