Lao Cai welcomes more than 2 million tourists in first 2 months of 2025

According to statistics from the Lao Cai Department of Tourism, in the first two months of 2025, tourist attractions in the province welcomed more than two million visitors, marking an increase of 93% over the same period in 2024.

The Lunar New Year 2025 holiday featured nice and favourable weather for tourists to come to Lao Cai to visit famous tourist attractions such as Sa Pa, Bac Ha, and Y Ty.

At the same time, in the first months of the year, special festivals have been continuously taking place in the area, such as: the Thuong Temple Festival and "Going to the Field" Festival of the Tay people, Gau Tao Festival of the Mong people, and the Nhay lua (fire jumping) ceremony of the Dao people. As such, the number of tourists to Lao Cai has skyrocketed.

Through traditional festivals, visitors have the opportunity to experience unique cultural features. This leaves a good impression and encourages visitors to return in the future.

In addition, the festivals are widely promoted by the tourism industry through information and communication channels, especially on social networking platforms, bringing the image of Lao Cai tourism closer to domestic and foreign tourists.
