Organised by the Special Topics Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the exhibition is one of the cultural highlights welcoming the New Year 2026, following the success of the special art programme Light Concert.
The exhibition brings together 20 well-known artists with distinctive personalities and voices in painting from across the country with 31 artworks, most of which were newly created at the beginning of 2026.
Speaking at the exhibition, Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication-Education and Mass Mobilisation, President of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, said that for Nhan Dan Newspaper, the “Ngua Xuan” exhibition is not only a fine arts event but also a concrete expression of the cultural mission that the newspaper has consistently pursued.
Revolutionary journalism, alongside its tasks of providing information, communication and public opinion guidance, also bears the responsibility of accompanying the spiritual life of society, nurturing humanistic values, fostering aesthetic appreciation and inspiring faith in positive values, according to Le Quoc Minh.
He added that even more noteworthy is the way this exhibition demonstrates the increasingly deep bond between Nhan Dan Newspaper and the community of artists and intellectuals, who are important and long-standing contributors to the newspaper.
The gathering of a large number of artists from different generations and creative styles, all present within the space of Nhan Dan Newspaper, is a testament to the Party newspaper’s open-minded and receptive spirit in listening to and embracing diverse voices and perspectives from social life, thereby continuously enhancing content quality, ideological depth and social impact.
The horse, the zodiac animal of the 2026 Year of the Horse, is depicted by the artists in a wide range of expressions, from figurative portrayals to stylised images carrying aspirations for the new spring. The artworks employ diverse materials such as silk, do paper, watercolour and oil, and are rich in visual language.
Meritorious Teacher and Artist Le Anh Van, one of the exhibitors, said that this is a very meaningful idea for the year of the horse, with the image of the horse symbolising vitality and an uplifting spring spirit. Most importantly, the exhibition shows how Nhan Dan Newspaper has helped build a tradition of connecting art with the public and with the newspaper itself.
