The collection brings together Fidel Castro’s speeches, articles, interviews, messages, and many other important documents produced throughout his revolutionary career.

Running through the volumes is Fidel Castro’s consistent vision of national independence closely linked with socialism, the role of the people, the spirit of international solidarity, and the aspiration to build a peaceful, just, and sustainably developed world.

In the history of the 20th-century global revolutionary movement, Fidel Castro was one of its most influential leaders.

His revolutionary life was closely associated with the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and with the unwavering cause of safeguarding national independence, national sovereignty, and the socialist path chosen by the Cuban people.

For Viet Nam, Fidel Castro was a great friend and a devoted comrade. During the most intense years of Viet Nam’s resistance war against the US, Cuba stood firmly alongside the Vietnamese people and gave resolute support to their struggle.

The deep affection Fidel Castro held for Viet Nam became a powerful source of inspiration for successive generations of leaders of the two parties and the two states, who have continued strengthening the traditional solidarity, special friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Cuban Ambassador to Viet Nam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes expressed his appreciation for Viet Nam’s publication of the first Spanish-language edition of the selected works of Fidel Castro.

He affirmed that the publication was a meaningful tribute by the heroic Vietnamese people, a nation that Fidel always held in the deepest admiration.

The Cuban ambassador added that the publication of the collection was of profound significance as it provides a valuable source of reference for those seeking to better understand the life, career, and ideology of Fidel Castro, his immense contributions to the Cuban revolution and the global revolutionary movement, and the special friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba.

Building on the Spanish-language edition, the Truth National Political Publishing House will continue to work with the Fidel Castro Ruz Centre to edit and publish English and Vietnamese editions of the collection.
