Seminar highlights challenges and opportunities in digital transformation of Vietnamese press

A seminar highlighting challenges and opportunities in the digital transformation of the Vietnamese press was held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 7.

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnam Journalists' Association (VJA) and Vietnamese technology company FPT Corporation.

In his speech, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the VJA Le Quoc Minh emphasised, that the VJA will support press agencies in copyright protection, as well as cooperate with businesses with large technology platforms to support the press, especially small news agencies, that cannot equip infrastructure for digital transformation.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of FPT Corporation spoke about the strong development of AI technology and its application in various activities of social life in general and the field of communication and journalism in particular. Through experiences of meeting and working with major press units around the world, along with personal assessments, Binh also predicted the change of digital newsrooms in the future, with impressive numbers.

At the seminar, delegates listened to contents related to the achievements in the digital transformation process at several press agencies; challenges facing agencies in the digital age; as well as comments on the impact of technology in the field of journalism and future technological opportunities and solutions.
