Tung Duong now seven-time winner of Music Dedication Awards

Nhan Dan – Hanoi artist Tung Duong was named ‘Singer of the Year’ and his project ‘Doc Dao’ (Single Path) was honoured as the Music Programme of the Year at the awards ceremony of the Music Dedication Awards in Hanoi on April 22.

With the double victory, Duong established himself as a seven-time winner of the prestigious awards, as this is the fourth time he has earned the ‘Singer of the Year’ title and the third time his musical projects were honoured as best in show.

‘Tinh Yeu Mau Nang’ (Love for Sunshine), a song composed by Pham Thanh Ha and featured by singer Doan Thuy Trang and rapper Big Daddy, was awarded as ‘Song of the Year’.

‘Best New Artist’ prize went to Vu Cat Tuong, runner up of 2013 The Voice Vietnam edition.

‘Album of the Year’ prize was presented to ‘Canh Cung 3 – Chuyen Cua Mat Troi, Chuyen Cua Chung Ta’ (The Bow 3 – The Story of the Sun, The Story of Us) by composer Do Bao and crooner Ha Tran. The album also helped Bao win the ‘Composer of the Year’ title.

'Rockstorm', an annual rock concert sponsored by Mobifone, a mobile phone service provider, was honoured as ‘Best Music Programme Series’.

The Music Dedication Awards, organised by the Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), are presented annually to honour Vietnamese artists for their creativity and positive contributions to the development of the country’s music. The winners are selected after voting by reporters and journalists who specialise in writing music and culture columns.
