The agreement, signed at Cuc Phuong National Park in Ninh Binh Province, aims to promote bilateral collaboration in environmental protection, wildlife conservation, environmental education and sustainable development, while fostering youth engagement and environmental leadership in both countries.

Under the three-year partnership, the two sides will focus on four key areas: sharing expertise and technical knowledge on biodiversity conservation and wildlife rescue; organising environmental education programmes, ecological summer camps and youth exchanges; conducting research on the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and endemic species; and raising public awareness of environmental protection through communications and outreach activities.

Cuc Phuong National Park, home to several specialised wildlife rescue centres, will provide expertise in animal care, rehabilitation and reintroduction programmes. The RoK partners will contribute experience in sustainable environmental management, ecosystem restoration and community-based conservation models.

The agreement also establishes mechanisms for professional exchanges, joint research and the implementation of conservation initiatives tailored to the conditions of each country.

A major component of the partnership is environmental education for young people. Field-based learning activities in Cuc Phuong's primary forest, ecological summer camps and youth forums on climate change will be organised regularly to improve environmental awareness and practical conservation skills among younger generations.

Scientists from both countries will collaborate on research into the effects of climate change on biodiversity and develop technical solutions to support conservation efforts and the preservation of valuable genetic resources.

The MoU took effect on June 17, 2026 and will be automatically renewed unless either side decides otherwise.
