This year’s event was co-organised by the Viet Nam Association for Promoting Education, VNPT Group, and relevant ministries and agencies.

Since its inception in 2005, the Viet Nam Talent Awards have journeyed through twenty years, becoming a symbol of the spirit of “lifelong learning and creativity for the community.”

The event marks two decades of building a Vietnamese knowledge brand, bridging science, technology, and policies to develop the nation’s high-quality human resources.

The awards saw the participation of over 7,500 authors and 3,500 projects, with more than 200 projects honoured. These figures embody the countless dreams and tireless efforts of those who believe that knowledge can bring about change.

This year, the first prize in the Medicine–Pharmaceuticals category went to Dr Duong Duc Hung and colleagues from Viet Duc Hospital for their research on multi-organ transplantation from brain-dead donors — a milestone in Vietnamese medicine.

Many other outstanding individuals were also honoured, including Nguyen Manh Hung from Thanh Hoa (creator of the NH10/70 honey filter machine); Thi Khanh An from Tay Ninh (designer of a 360° hydraulic sugarcane grabber); and Nguyen Duc Thanh from Bac Ninh (inventor of a flare-based flood warning pole).

“Honouring talent is not merely about giving awards but also about awakening the spirit of lifelong learning,” shared Le Manh Hung, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Viet Nam Association for Promoting Education.

This year’s theme echoes the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW (dated December 22, 2024) issued by the Politburo on the development and application of science, technology, and innovation in service of national industrialisation and modernisation. The resolution affirms that “science, technology, and innovation are the key driving forces for rapid and sustainable development.”

The Viet Nam Talent Awards are a concrete embodiment of that vision — a platform where the Party’s guidelines are translated into social action through mechanisms that encourage, honour, and nurture talent.
