The prize aims to identify and honour AI solutions developed and mastered by Vietnamese people. The 1 million USD award will be presented to the most outstanding artificial intelligence solution created and mastered by Vietnamese people, one that has been deployed in practice and demonstrated its value in Viet Nam.
The prize was initiated by the Au Lac AI Alliance, under the patronage of FPT Corporation, with the aim of encouraging technological self-reliance and honouring Vietnamese intellect on the global technology map.
By identifying and promoting AI solutions developed by Vietnamese people, the prize contributes to realising the goals set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, in which mastering strategic technologies is identified as a central requirement.
Entries will be accepted until July 31, 2026. After that, the preliminary and final rounds will take place from August to October, with the award ceremony expected to be held in November.
Applications are being received online through the programme’s official website at https://www.aulacgrandprize.com/.
Speaking about the prize, Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Au Lac AI Alliance and Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, said the prize’s greatest goal was to help build sovereign AI capacity for Viet Nam by encouraging more Vietnamese people to engage in AI research, development, and practical application. According to him, the value of the prize lies not only in the product that is honoured but also in its ability to inspire and motivate the wider community to take part and master the technology.
The Au Lac Grand Prize is being launched at a time when Viet Nam is accelerating the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, with artificial intelligence identified as one of the strategic technologies playing a key role in enhancing competitiveness and ensuring sustainable development. The prize is expected to be organised for three consecutive years starting from 2026.
