The proposed road, to be built in 2026-2030, will run 11.5 kilometres through seven communes: Tien Hoa, Tong Tran, Ngu Thien, Tien La, Hung Ha, Dien Ha and Than Khe.
The road is expected to strengthen transport links between Hung Yen and neighbouring Hai Phong and Ninh Binh, while improving connections between southern Hung Yen and Ha Noi.
It will also connect the province’s north-south economic corridor with the Ha Noi-Hai Phong Expressway, in line with the revised Hung Yen Master Plan for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The road will also make fuller use of the Tan Phuc-Vong Phan Road.
Once completed, the road will link Hung Yen’s transport network with the Ninh Binh-Hai Phong Expressway, facilitating the transport of goods to Diem Dien and Tra Ly ports.
The project is also expected to boost socio-economic development and complete key transport infrastructure in Hung Yen and the wider region.
The new road will better meet demand for freight and passenger transport while opening up land for development along both sides of the route. It will pave the way for industrial clusters, urban areas and zones for tourism and services, attracting investment to Hung Yen Province.
The project will also help form an inter-regional road network connecting the Ha Noi-Hai Phong Expressway with Hung Yen and Ninh Binh, spurring socio-economic development in the province and neighbouring areas.
