National-scale Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 to be launched in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture and Sports has announced that the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will be from April 19 to 21.

The event will be organised at key locations such as Book Street (Nguyen Van Binh Street), Paris Square, and all districts and Thu Duc City. It aims to promote the messages: “Reading Culture - Connecting the Community” and “Read to Enrich Knowledge, Nurture Aspirations, Drive Innovation”.

Highlight activities include exhibitions of book titles honouring the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - 2025) and national reunification, interactive book talks, and new book launches. Featured programmes involve the introduction of titles like “Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City Heritage”, “From Ben Hai River to Independence Palace”, and “100 Years of Tan Son Nhat Airport”.

Other activities include a thematic exhibition on the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, music and film adaptations from literature, children’s reading spaces, and digital publishing showcases. E-commerce book sales will also be promoted to expand digital reach.

A special highlight is the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of new book streets in District 7 and Binh Tan, part of the city’s celebration of the national milestone.
