The distinctive identity embodies a fusion of international values and Vietnamese cultural identity. The white dove holding a rice ear, along with three coloured ribbons, conveys layered messages. Peace is not only the absence of war but is also associated with prosperity, sustainable development and Viet Nam’s wet-rice civilisation.
The three coloured ribbons, including red and yellow symbolising the national flag, represent the sacred spirit of the nation and national pride. The blue colour stands for revival, peace and hope. The interconnection of the three ribbons also symbolises the unity of the three regions – North, Central and South – together lifting the wings of Vietnamese peace to reach the world.
The identity highlights both the honouring of history and the aspiration for a bright future. It not only looks forward but also pays tribute to the nation’s heroic past by incorporating valuable historical materials. These include typical cultural and historical relics among the province’s 647 sites, which once stood as witnesses to the nation’s resilience and its aspiration for unity and development.
At the same time, the identity also portrays a new image of the province – a Quang Tri that is transforming day by day, with peaceful rivers, modern wind power fields and magnificent natural heritage.
Le Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri Province, stated that the core message of the identity is that the Festival for Peace 2026 is not only a distinctive cultural and tourism event, but also an affirmation of Quang Tri as a destination of connection, sharing and aspirations for prosperous development in a peaceful world.
Previously, the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a coordinated plan to organise the Festival for Peace 2026, featuring a series of large-scale events to honour the value of peace, pay tribute to fallen heroes, and promote the image of Quang Tri’s land and people to visitors and international friends.
The Festival for Peace 2026, themed “From Memory to the Future – Quang Tri for Peace”, will officially run from April to December 2026, featuring a wide range of distinctive activities and programmes.
