This is a project jointly invested in by the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and SunRice Group, in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP).

The main partners of the project are the University of Queensland, An Giang University under Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta Rice Research Institute (CLRRI), and the Mekong Delta Development Research Institute of Can ThoUniversity, the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap and Soc Trang provinces and several companies under SunRice Group.

The project will be implemented from 2022 to 2025, and the main result will be the establishment of a rice value chain with high yield, sustainability, traceability and quality assurance for short-grain rice throughout the Mekong Delta, benefiting rice farmers and meeting the requirements of SunRice's export markets.

The project will encourage cooperatives and groups of rice farmers to apply standards of sustainable production practices, with indicators of sustainable rice farming standards.
