Concert celebrates August Revolution and National Day

A concert gala named ‘Proud of my Fatherland’ was held at the Quan Ngua Sports Complex in Hanoi on August 17, as part of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnamese National Day.

The event was attended by Politburo member and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFFCC) Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation Ha Thi Khiet, Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam; Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Vu Trong Kim; Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan; and Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang; as well as leaders from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

Co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper, the concert attracted 4,000 artists and youth union members.

The concert featured songs in praise of the national revolution and love for the home country. It aimed to inspire patriotism and encourage youth to continually work for global integration while projecting maritime and island sovereignty.

The participants also had an opportunity to meet with special guests such as former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and the hero Le Ma Luong.
