The initiative aims to foster strategic connections between Da Nang and China’s Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), facilitating access to markets, resources, technologies, and investment opportunities for startups.

Jesse Choi, CEO of Sunwah Group Southeast Asia and President of the Viet Nam Chapter of the GBA Entrepreneurs Union, noted that the Greater Bay Area is among the world’s most dynamic and integrated economic zones, home to over 86 million people, with a combined GDP exceeding 2 trillion USD. Each GBA city offers distinct strengths, collectively accelerating the commercialisation of innovations from lab to market.

He highlighted the potential of the new space to act as a strategic bridge between Da Nang’s innovation ecosystem and leading tech hubs such as Hong Kong, Macao, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou (China).

This week, the innovation hub will host nearly 20 experts and startups from Hong Kong Polytechnic University exploring collaboration opportunities. Additionally, a Da Nang representative will attend a finance training programme organised and funded by Hong Kong’s Financial Services Development Council (FSDC).

Da Nang has identified science, technology, and innovation as key pillars of its strategic development. The city continues to support startups and investors with enabling policies, infrastructure, and resources to drive sustainable growth.

Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Department of Science and Technology, expressed confidence that the space will become a regional destination for tech enterprises, international investors, and innovative ideas.

This event marks Da Nang’s third international innovation space, following collaborations with Seoul and Singapore, thus reinforcing its commitment to global innovation partnerships.
