Eight extended northwestern provinces enhance tourism promotion in Ho Chi Minh City

A conference on tourism promotion for eight extended northwestern provinces was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 6, in response to the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival.

The conference was part of activities within the framework of the agreement on the cooperation for tourism development, between Ho Chi Minh City and eight extended northwestern provinces, during the 2021-2025 period.

At the event, the Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Tourism Ha Van Thang said, the northwestern region is always a destination not to be missed by travellers, who love the majestic and unspoiled nature, as well as unique cultural experiences.

The tourism cooperation between eight extended northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, has helped the northwestern provinces to find a rich source of tourists, while supporting the localities to exploit and connect with the Ho Chi Minh City market.

Through the cooperation, eight extended northwestern provinces can also promote and introduce their famous tourist destinations to domestic and foreign tourists.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, noted that to promote the tourism linkage between the City and the eight Northwestern provinces more effectively, firstly, the provinces need to strengthen the application of information technology in the promotion of tourism products and the linkage activities.

Earlier, to attract more southern visitors, the northwestern provinces organised a Festival entitled “The Quintessence of the Northwest - Connecting green aspirations”, on the occasion of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival.
