The festival aims to preserve and promote the meaning of the festival of the Mong ethnic people in Moc Chau district, to celebrate National Day, and to promote the development of the Moc Chau National Tourism Zone
For the H'Mong people, there are two important festivals every year, traditional Tet and the festival to celebrate National Day.
According to the elders in the locality, since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945, the festival to celebrate National Day has been organised annually, helping them to express their gratitude to the party, President Ho Chi Minh and the government for bringing freedom and independence to the Vietnamese people and the H'Mong people.
This year’s Culture Day of ethnic groups in Moc Chau District will feature many activities, such as an art programme; singing contest; Moc Chau beauty pageant; cultural camp; displaying religious spaces, costumes, jewelry, labour tools, production, traditional crafts and special local agricultural products; as well as tourism promotion activities.
