Ha Noi to start work on eight major projects on Liberation Day anniversary

Ha Noi has finalised eight major projects set to launch in early October, as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 71st anniversary of its Liberation Day on October 10.

The latest initiatives include the Thuong Cat Bridge and its approach roads, phase two of Tran Hung Dao Bridge with connecting routes, the Le Hong Phong Cadre Training School, and the second Ha Noi Kidney Hospital facility.

Others are the Ngoc Trai (Pearl) Opera House and a themed cultural and artistic park in the Quang An Peninsula (West Lake), an underpass at Co Linh intersection in Long Bien ward, and a riverside park along the To Lich River.

Another highlight will be the groundbreaking of Ha Noi’s Metro Line No. 2, running from Nam Thang Long to Tran Hung Dao, with the ceremony planned at Xuan Dinh depot. The city will also unveil detailed plans for Station C9 and related works between Stations C8 and C10, alongside resettlement and site clearance for the proposed square and park east of Hoan Kiem Lake in the historic centre.

Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan has ordered relevant management boards to expedite contractor selection and complete all legal documentation.
