Huong Tram wins The Voice of Vietnam 2012

Nhan Dan – The 17-year-old singer, Pham Thi Huong Tram, won the top prize at the first reason of the ‘The Voice of Vietnam’ singing contest, which wrapped up in Ho Chi Minh City on January 13.

The winner, from Thu Minh’s team, beat three other contestants including Dinh Huong, Xuan Nghi and Kien Giang from Ho Ngoc Ha’s, Dam Vinh Hung’s and Tran Lap’s teams, respectively, to receive the highest number of votes from the audiences.

She won the prize of VND500 million (US$24,000) and a record contract with Universal Republic Records.

On the final night of the contest, Huong Tram sang successfully the song ‘Tren dinh Phu Van’ (On the Phu Van Summit) by Pho Duc Phuong and English song ‘Queen of the Night’ by Whitney Houston. For the final song, she and her coach, Thu Minh, performed the song ‘Duong cong’ (The Curve) by Nguyen Hai Phong and received an enthusiastic applause from the audiences.

The Voice of Vietnam is based on the Holland Television’s show ‘The Voice of Holland’ and is produced by Vietnam Television and the Cat Tien Sa Entertainment Company. The contest comprised three stages including the Blind Auditions, the Battle and the Live Shows.
