Nhan Dan Newspaper, in coordination with Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company, held the “Xay Tet 2026” (Building Tet 2026) programme on January 29, for construction workers working at two projects: the Pearl Theatre and Thematic Cultural and Art Park project, and the project to renovate, upgrade, and build new facilities at the West Lake Guesthouse Complex.
Construction workers at the Pearl Theatre project site (Ha Noi) joyfully receive Tet gifts from the organisers of the “Xay Tet 2026” programme.
The event is part of the “Xay Tet 2026” series under the theme “Thank you, the guardians of happiness”, held in celebration of the success of the 14th National Party Congress and in welcoming the Lunar New Year 2026.
The programme aims to promote the beauty of labour and demonstrate practical care for workers directly engaged on construction sites — those who work day and night to build projects, shape urban landscapes, and develop national infrastructure — while bringing them a warm, safe, and happy spring. Nearly 1,100 workers and employees took part in the event.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that the “Xay Tet” programme has been implemented nationwide. This year, it will be organised for more than 33,000 workers, including construction workers at 73 construction sites across the country, and will be expanded to cover environmental sanitation and urban drainage workers in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Ha Noi.

Leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper share the joy on site with workers and engineers from the Pearl Theatre and Thematic Cultural and Art Park projects, and the West Lake Guesthouse Complex renovation, upgrading, and new construction project. The programme features the “Safety Tree”, where engineers and workers jointly express their strong commitment to occupational safety by placing their handprints on the image. Meaningful gifts help spread a warm and prosperous Tet atmosphere across construction sites nationwide. At the programme, in addition to receiving Tet gifts, workers were also able to take part in various free practical support activities, including haircuts, commemorative photo sessions, and health check-ups. Many workers gathered at the free haircut area to prepare for a joyful Lunar New Year. Workers participated in activities promoting a culture of occupational safety through experiential games, helping raise awareness of risk prevention such as working-at-height safety, fire and explosion prevention, electrical safety, and the safe operation of machinery and equipment.
These activities have also been organised at “Xay Tet 2026” programmes in various localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang, contributing to the dissemination of the programme’s humane message.
