Held at Ethnic Village III at the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Ha Noi), the programme showcasing culture, tourism, and outstanding products of Vinh Long Province brings a series of activities rich in southwestern regional identity.
Various forms of folk arts are presented throughout the event. Visitors also have the opportunity to engage with and learn about Khmer culture through national intangible heritages.
Numerous unique performances by artists from the provincial cultural and arts troupe create a rich atmosphere of traditional artistry.
In addition to art performance areas, the space for showcasing and practising traditional crafts also draws much attention. Folk artisan Vo Van Ba (stage name Son Ba) from Phu Khuong Ward, Vinh Long Province tirelessly created a set of musical instruments made entirely from coconut trees, setting a Viet Nam Guinness record in 2012. On this occasion, visitors can directly explore this one-of-a-kind coconut-tree instrument set.
Furthermore, techniques such as coconut-leaf weaving, coconut-leaf knotting, coconut-craft making, and demonstrations of the processes for making My Long rice paper and Son Doc rice crackers are introduced and performed by artisans from Vinh Long’s traditional craft villages.
Additionally, images, publications, and artefacts of prominent cultural and historical figures of Vinh Long Province help visitors better understand the heritage of this land known for its strong educational traditions. Videos and clips promoting tourism potential, OCOP products, and local festivals, customs, and traditional river-culture activities are screened, creating engaging and modern highlights.
